Posted 9th January, 2018
Duddo Stone circle is one of the lesser known attractions of Northumberland.
This spookily romantic ancient site is about four miles from the Scottish border.
Most people know about 'cup and ring' markings on rocks in the area - the prehistoric rock art found throught Northern Europe.
However there are stone circles to be found in Northumberland too.
Duddo Five Stones is the name sometimes used for these rocks and up until the early 1900's there were only four pieces of stone - a fifth was re-erected.
