Described by 'Visit Northumberland' as being in a fairytale setting, the village is within easy reach of Hexham and Consett.
If you are visiting Edmondbyers and the Derwent Reservoir, continue for another few miles up to BlanchlandThe first thing you will notice is the similarity of most of the buildings - being built from stones retrieved from the medieval Blanchland abbey This was organised by Nathanial Crew (a bishop of Durham) in the seventeenth century.
